Did these guys watch the Mythbusters Diet Coke and Mentos? its the fact that the surface area of the mentos is pitted that causes the eruption, eating them then drinking the cola will not have the same effect, especially if you chew the mentos

They were coloured mentos, they have a gloss finish unlike the mint mentos, proven on mythbusters they do not create the same explosive reaction as the regular mint mentos. Thusforth no reaction in the stomach.=]
